The third race in the Vancouver Island Race Series – Cedar 12K – due to take place on Sunday, has been postponed due to the snowstorm that has blanketed parts of Vancouver Island.
“Quennell Road has a layer of hard pack snow and given that cold weather and more flurries of snow are predicted for the next couple of days, we don’t expect that the course will be safe for runners,” said race director, Jim Rutherford. “Safety for runners and our volunteers are a number one priority. We’re very disappointed not to be hosting the race this weekend, but we look forward to welcoming everyone on the new course soon.”
A new date will be announced next week.
