Veteran Vancouver Island mountain biker Catharine Pendrel continues to dominate on the trails.

The 2016 Rio Olympic bronze medallist, raced the third annual Powerade Canada Cup women’s mountain bike race, this weekend (March 30 – Apr. 1) at Bear Mountain.

Pendrel won in the time of one hour, 21 minutes and 25 seconds.

The second-place finisher was Bear Mountain’s Haley Smith, who crossed the finish line in the time of 1:22:19, Haley Batten came in third stopping the clock at 1:22:22.

Olympian Andrew L’Esperance won the men’s race in the time of 1:26:50. Just two seconds back was Alma, QC rider Leandre Bouchard.
