Canadian Kettlebell Nationals featured top Victoria area talent

The Canadian Kettlebell Sport Nationals took place at the Mary Winspear Centre on May 28th and several Greater Victoria athletes competed well against kettlebell's best from around the world.

This competition is the official Canadian Qualifying event for selections to represent Team Canada at the 2016 World Championships in Kazakhstan.

Victoria's Rod MacMillan in the 105kg category competed in the Kettlebell Biathlon finishing first in his weight category and second overall with 90 jerk reps and 122 snatch reps. He finished just 9.5 points out of first place, which was won by Artur Sasik of Kiev, Ukraine.

David van Dusen of Victoria finished second in the Men’s Snatch lifting the 24kg kettlebell. Local Paul Lang was also in the competition.

Corrisa Sivorot who competed in the world in Ireland last year finished second in her weight category of 68kg and fourth overall, while Jessica Marchand finished first in her weight division.
