The Saanich Braves spotted the Campbell River Storm a 4-0 lead at Pearkes Arena on Saturday during game 3 of their final VIJHL playoff series, before succumbing 5-2. The Storm now have a 2-1 lead in the series.

Cody Savey opened the scoring for the Storm at 13:23 of the first. Three-minutes and 29 seconds later Jalen Price scored on the powerplay and then 14 seconds later Dylan McCann scored.

The Storm made it 4-0 when Dawson Frank put one in on the powerplay at 4:33 of the second.

It was a big hole to climb out of for the Braves, as they tried in game two, they made the effort, scoring twice, once at 11:37 of the second with a goal from Michael Sproule and then at 8:54 of the third Dale McCabe scored a powerplay marker.

Down two goals, the Braves pulled goaltender Tyler Mathieson in favour of the extra attacker but gave up the empty-netter at 19:09. Jake McKenzie scored.

Seventeen-year-old, Campbell River native Jalen Price and 18-year-old Dawson Frank led the way for the Storm with a goal and assist each.

The Storm went 2/5 on the man advantage, while the Braves went 1/3.

As usual, the Storm shot from every angle take 51, while Dylan Garand stopped 37 of 39.

The teams renew acquaintances for game four at Pearkes Arena on Monday at 6:30 pm.
