Vince Greco, VISL
In the A Cup, we had five teams in the tournament heading into this past weekend. Unfortunately, four of the five teams were paired off against each other. There were some exciting matches, but we ended up losing three of the five games.

From the Mainland, Comox faced Pegasus.  Pegasus is considered a favourite to win the tournament, Comox was in-tough. A great experience for the squad – especially since it was their first entry.  Comox lost 5-1 and their season is over.

From Duncan – in a repeat of the Jackson Cup Final, Cowichan LMG and Bays United faced off.  In a spirited affair from David Williams Turf field in Duncan, Cowichan defeated Bays Utd 3-1.

Bays jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to keep Cowichan off the scoresheet.

Scoring for Cowichan was Cooper Barry, Keevan Webb, and Joshua Cuthbert. Scoring for Bays Utd was Jack Hill.

Cowichan move on to host Croatia FC from the VMSL; they are a strong opponent.

During penalty shots, Nanaimo was victorious and won the game 4-3.

Scoring for Saanich Fusion was Cardin Davis and Andrew Celenza had 2.

Scoring for Nanaimo was Mateo Kostering and  Daragh Fitzgerald scored twice.
