The first PACWEST women’s quarterfinal takes place at 1:00pm on Thursday when the #3 Capilano Blues face the #6 seeded Camosun Chargers. Blues are trying to avenge a semi-final loss in last year’s PACWEST volleyball championship, while the Chargers look to win their way into the Nationals, rather than be “just” the host seed.

#3 Capilano Blues

PACWEST Record: 17-7
Sets – 54-36
Home – 8-5, Road – 9-2

Leader: #5 Kira Sutcliffe: Overall she has 275 kills and 351 offensive points, second most in the PACWEST.  She also has been very good from the service line with 30 aces.

#6 Camosun Chargers

PACWEST Record: 8-16
Sets – 38-45
Home – 4-8, Road – 4-8

Leader:  #5 Michelle Zygmunt: She’s been a force offensively leading the PACWEST with 310 kills and is second with 358 total offensive points.  She also has 33 service aces to her credit.


The first PACWEST men’s quarterfinal will see the #3 Camosun Chargers face the #6 Capilano Blues at 3:00pm on Thursday.  In the seasonal series, the Chargers have laid claim to three wins of the four matches.  Their only set back was a five set heartbreaker on February 11th.

Leader: #7 Savana Walkingbear: The fifth year senior has turned it on in the second half and has collected a team high 244 kills and 284 offensive points.

#6 Capilano Blues

PACWEST Record: 8-16
Sets – 38-45
Home – 4-8, Road – 4-8

Leader: #5 Justin Yee: The PACWEST Rookie of the Year has shown what the future has in store for the Blues as he leads his club with 249 kills and 311 offensive points.  He also had 35 service aces and 220 digs on the defensive side.
